Scooter-Friendly Holiday Activity Ideas

The temperatures are dropping but this does not mean you should stay inside! The holiday season is a great time to spend quality time with your friends, family, and loved ones. We have provided a few ideas for holiday fun across the US that can be scooter-friendly!

Grand Festivals

Most cities have their own festival of lights but the festival in Stanwood, Washington is huge! The festival features lights that span over 15 acres of land, yes 15 acres! The festival has activities for the entire family including kid-specific activities, live entertainment, shopping, dining, and of course the holiday lights! Outside of a few unpaved areas (mainly in the parking areas) the festival provides smooth paths for scooters to ride! The festival also has accessible parking (may be limited so arrive early)!

Similarly, for those on the east coast, the CaroWinds park in North Carolina has a winter festival that includes activities, dining, and much more!

Train Ride/Polar Express Options

The Great Smoky Mountains in North Carolina has a holiday ride that will take you from Bryson City to the North pole! The ride is a little over an hour and has a hydraulic lift feature for those who may need assistance boarding and disembarking the train.

The Polar Express in Whippany, NJ also has a mobile lift with space for scooters and wheelchairs in the coach class section

In Colorado there is also a train experience where you can board the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. This train also features a hydraulic lift as well for boarding and disembarking the train.

This is the season to be jolly and still have accessibility! Contact us to purchase your scooter for this holiday season, for more details on accessible options near you, or to book your family getaway during this holiday season!
