Which Tire Is Right For Your Scooter?

There are so many different tires to pick from when getting a mobility scooter that it can be overwhelming.  This post will help you decide which tire is right for you.

Solid mobility scooter tires

Most travel scooters come with solid tires. You never have to worry about a flat, but they don't provide the softest ride. They also come in a black tire that won't scuff wood, laminate, or tiled floors.

Foam filled mobility scooter tires

Foam-filled tires are available on many non-travel scooters.

They are filled with foam instead of air so that you never have to worry about a flat tire. However, the foam still does not provide as smooth as a ride as an air-filled, or pneumatic tire.

Pneumatic tires

Full-size and All-Terrain scooters generally have pneumatic tires. If you plan on traveling over rough terrain, pneumatic tires are recommended. They provide shock absorption which produces a more comfortable ride. They do require some maintenance and have a tube inside just like a bicycle tire. If you happen to get a flat, generally the tube must be replaced.

Now that you know more about the options, we hope you will be able to pick the tire that works best for your needs with ease.
